How to change the Displayed Name of a Part to Part Number.

How to Change the Displayed Name of a Part to Part Number

1.       Open the Model.

2.       Choose File -> Properties.

3.       In the Displayed Part Properties dialog, choose the Attributes tab.

4.       In the Title/Alias box, enter a name for the attribute that will be created.

5.       In the Value box, enter the part number.

6.       Click the green check mark.

7.       The attribute will now appear in the table.

8.       Click OK.

9.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Preferences -> Assemblies.

10.   In the Assemblies Preferences dialog, choose Miscellaneous.

11.   In the Part Names group, change Descriptive Part Name Style to Specified Attribute.

12.   In the Attribute box, enter the attribute name.

13.   Click OK.

14.   The displayed name will now be changed.
