How to Create an Associative Chamfer Label on a Non-Planar Surface in Drafting
Noting Chamfer Details
1. Open the Drawing.
2. Choose the Application tab -> Design group -> Modeling.
3. The details of the Chamfer can be found by double clicking the desired Chamfer node in the Part Navigator.
- Note: The Chamfer Dimension tool only works if the chamfer is symmetrical.
4. Choose the Tools tab -> Utilities group -> Expressions.
5. The values applicable to the Chamfer can be viewed in the table.
Creating the Associative Chamfer Label
1. Return to the Drawing.
2. Choose the Home tab -> Annotation group -> Note.
3. In the Text Input box, enter a multiplication symbol and a degree symbol.
4. Position the cursor before the multiplication symbol.
5. Choose the General tab -> Insert group -> Expressions.
6. Choose Link to Part.
7. Select the desired part.
8. Click OK.
9. Select the desired expression.
10. Click OK.
11. Position the cursor before the degree symbol.
12. Repeat steps 10 through 15.
13. In the Leader group, choose Select Terminating Object and select a point on the View.
14. Click to place the dimension.
15. Click Close.
Verifying Association
1. Return to the model.
2. Alter the Chamfer dimensions.
3. In the Part Navigator, right click on the Drawing node and select Update.
4. The values on the drawing will change accordingly.
