How to add Solid Edge custom Frame parts to Standard Parts?

Platforms
  • na windows-1032
Release Versions
  • Solid Edge V223UPD3
Solution

1) In the custom Frame part add a variable - in this example named "LL" - and link this to the Extrude.

2) Copy the custom part to the Standard Parts folder (..\StandardParts\Customparts\

3) Create a new assembly and add the customer part and save the assembly.

4) In the assembly, select the Frame part in the Pathfinder.

5) Start Standard Parts Database Administrator.

6) Add parts.

7) Select "Add standard part from select set in assembly environment".

8) Select "Frame/Section_Profiles part" and define the path.

9)  Next, in "Category Info" - length should be available by default; add "LL" as a variable (this will drive the length).  You can add any additional properties here for selection.

10) On the Frame Design tab select "Enable" and the part type.

11) Click OK and the frame is added.

Now in the Frame environment you can use this custom part.
