How to workaround when Sketch Curve is not allowed in Broken view (Legacy)

There is no option to suppress the "legacy" broken view to add a sketch, therefore you can't make the view active sketch view.

Workaround is to customize the Basic Curves toolbar from Tools ->Customize->Menu -> Insert -> Curves ->drag/drop Basic Curves to Ribbon toolbar then you can expand the broken view to create basic curves instead of a sketch.
