Details

In this scenario, the customer has switched from a Node Locked to Cloud enabled license.  At the end of last month the Maintenance expired and the customer is no longer able to use Solid Edge.  What has to be done?

Solution

When a customer's maintenance expires, their Webkey will be deactivated. Since the Webkey account is needed for Cloud enabled Licensing, the customer will no longer able to log in, and consequently they cannot use Solid Edge Cloud enabled Licensing anymore.

What has to be done is to set the customer back to Node Locked License.  This can only be undertaken by Siemens Technical Support.

Once done, the originally created Node Locked License file will become valid again and the customer can run Solid Edge Node Locked, when they use the Solid Edge License Utility and select the following option:

"I have a License File" and browse to the Node Locked license file.
