Can the Process Designer work standalone or it needs to be connected to a server?
In short: No.
Process Designer needs eMServer and DB as backend. Because otherwise this application makes no sense this is PDM and DataModel application.
The Process Designer provides an integration of the eMServer and its planning tools with the 3D viewer. The Process Designer is comprised of a Navigation Tree, which encompasses all the data (the Product, Operation, Object, Mfg, and Resource Trees) and the Graphic Viewer. You can view data simultaneously in the trees and the Viewer, and modify the data in the eMServer. This data includes resources, parts, operations, and manufacturing features (weld points, weld seams, nuts, and so on).
The Process Designer provides users with fast viewing performance and basic analytical tools that increase the quality and productivity of their work during the planning process.
