Summary

Details

The customer has a BIDM Vault location defined as "D:\Design Data" which is the only path listed.

They are having trouble that some files are not displaying the correct Where Used search results (missing files that use the specified file).

The BIDM Diagnostics tool reports errors when Validating the Search Scope that says "You do not have permission to access C:\Users\username\Design Data old\..." which is an old location of the Dropbox, not the current location.

For some reason, BIDM is still directing Windows to index files in the old location on the C:\ drive instead of the new location on the D:\ drive.

Solution

Check if the old vault "Design Data old\..." is still displayed in under 'Index these locations:' in Indexing Options.

You can check this from 'run > Indexing Options.

- Click on [Advanced] tab > Advanced Options > Troubleshooting > [Rebuild] > Wait till Indexing to complete

- Check the FastSearchScope.txt file, does it still contain the old C:\ search path (even through it did not show up in the Vault definition options in Solid Edge - Manage...

- Delete this and searche again.

- Run the Diagnostic tool again and test issue, now it will perform correct results.
