Solid Edge Solid Edge property with type String not converted to Number

I would like synchronize a Solid Edge PMI dimension with a property Teamcenter.

To do that, I expose the dimension PMI in a Solid Edge property and map the exposed variable to a Teamcenter property with the type "Number".

When I upload the file to Teamcenter, I get error message, below:

To resolve this problem, you need to create a scalar type variable with formula linked to the PMI variable

This will remove the units from the custom property.

Consequently, you are able to synchronize the properties to Teamcenter without a warning.
