Using the new Measure tool, if you select first the centerline of the hole axis, then click the tapered face of the hole. NX reports Inner Angle of 49° instead of the correct 41° for an 82° countersink hole. What is 49 degrees? And how do I get the correct tapered angle?

      Solution

When you select the center line and the tapered face to measure, you would get the complementary angle not the tapered angle.

The way NX works is when measuring the angle between a tapered face and centerline, it will first take a normal from the tapered face and then calculate the angle result. Hence the angle between face normal and centerline is 49°.

To get the tapered face angle you can just hover the tapered face as you have noticed, or you can just select the tapered face to get the face angle result, without selecting the centerline
