NX Can NX drill generic points?

Can NX drill simple points, such as from a point cloud, or does hole making require modeled hole feature geometry?

NX can drill generic points, points on a face, and arc centers.  No solid model hole feature is necessary, although having the modeled hole feature will give the drilling operation much more intelligence in setting up the path parameters.
