Solid Edge Solid Edge Standard Parts (local) Migration from version 2022 MP11 to version 2023 (2210)

 A customer wants to migrate their local Solid Edge Standard Parts database from version 2022 MP11 to version 2023 (2210). How should they proceed?

1.

In Windows Apps & Features uninstall Standard Parts Administrator 2022.

This does not remove the database and also not the Standard Parts folder.

2.

Uninstall Solid Edge 2022.

The process bar 'Time remaining' does not refresh correctly.

Therefore, it will be necessary to wait until the message window 'Please wait while Windows configures Siemens Solid Edge 2022' disappears.

3.

Restart the system.

4.

Install Solid Edge 2023.

5.

Install the latest Update for Solid Edge.

At least Update 1 is required for Standard Parts.

6.

Restart the system

7.

License Solid Edge.

8.

Choose PDM Integration.

9.

Start Solid Edge.

Just to check the success of installation.

10.

Close Solid Edge and install Standard Parts Administrator 2023.

IMPORTANT: Do not install any master part files!

Versions 2022 and 2023 make use of Microsoft SQL Server 2017, hence that will not be installed or asked for during this update.

11.

Run Standard Parts Parts Management Administrator.

Settings should all be the same as with version 2022.

click save settings.

The database is now ready to use with Solid Edge 2023.
