Solution

Need to identify a scenario where the user would need to change the Human Range of Motion limits to something beyond what a real human can do?

The known scenario for modifying joint ranges is to reduce the range, rather than increase. This would reflect a situation where clothing may restrict motion, or physical disability.

The limits are set to anatomical ranges - such that impossible human motions/postures cannot be modeled.

In the newer versions of the tool, NX will open the ranges slightly to allow for extreme joint ranges (for example, if there is a known scenario where hyperflexion must be represented), but the user needs to identify and consider the case as a special one.
