NX NX / Simcenter 3D 2212 – FLEXnet Licensing version of client newer than server

Starting NX or Simcenter 3D 2212 results in the error "FLEXnet Licensing version of client newer than server"

The NX and Simcenter 3D 2212 releases require the 'Siemens License Server' v2.1 (or later).

The 'Siemens PLM Licensing' (v11.x) server cannot be used to license NX or Simcenter 3D 2212.

Attempting to do so will result in the following error at start up:

FLEXnet Licensing version of client newer than server

The 'Licensing Tool' will display the error:

Failed to connector the license server

Error occurred: -83

The following error will also appear in the NX/Simcenter '.syslog' file:

Version of vendor daemon is too old

The PLM License Server log file will contain the entry:

(ugslmd) Request denied ... (11.19) newer than Vendor Daemon (11.16). (Version of vendor daemon is too old. (-83,21049))

Note also that the 'Siemens License Server' and the legacy 'Siemens PLM Licensing' server cannot co-exist on the same machine.

All Siemens Digital Industries Software products using the vendor daemons listed below must use the 'Siemens License Server' with the 'saltd' license daemon, in order to use the same license server:

'ugslmd' - Siemens PLM products - NX / Simcenter 3D / Teamcenter

'mgcld' - Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics)

'cdlmd' - Simcenter STAR-CCM+ (CD-Adapco)

'RCTECH' - HEEDS

'saltd'
