Several administrators preset a flexlm options file (by default, ugslmd.opt) to properly manage license reservations to users and group of users.
Sometimes these groups comprise a lot of users and it's rather inconvenient (or even not allowed) to create single GROUP lines with lots of users, such as (replacing each user# placedholder with some actual username):
GROUP NX_USERS_SITE user1 user2 ..... user10
Such long GROUP lines are very inconvenient to set and manage.
Is there a way to split such long GROUP lines in the options file?
SolutionAs stated in the Flexera/Flexnet documentation (fnp_LicAdmin.pdf file, on page 158), find it here in Support Center repository: https://support.sw.siemens.com/en-US/downloads/PL20191210095924816/akamai?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fdownloada.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com%2Fsc_downloads_prod%2F6%2F6%2F07e25c57b9511b444d7d1a89e95cd5%2Ffnp_LicAdmin.pdf license server administrators are allowed to create a large user group on multiple lines, simply by defining multiple GROUP line, all users will be placed in the same single group; in other words, multiple GROUP lines with the same group name will add all specified users into the same group.
Hence these definitions in the options file will work fine
GROUP NX_USERS_SITE user1 user1 user3 user4 user5
..
...
GROUP NX_USERS_SITE user96 user97 user98 user99 user100
Eventually all those users will be added to the same NX_USER_SITE group.
