Details

After upgrading from NX12 to NX2206, applying your custom NX12 user role to the fresh NX2206 installation may delete the 'Base View' command icon from the Home Ribbon Tab. Switching back to one of the default roles does NOT restore the missing tool. Command is also not available via the Search function. The only way to bring the command back is to delete the NX2206 folder from AppData/Local/Siemens.

Solution

The reason that the Base View command is missing is because this is a known problem when using Roles that have been created or modified using earlier releases of NX.

The problem is caused by a change of command type for some of the view commands, from toggle buttons to action (push) buttons.

Starting with NX1872, Ribbon/Menu customization code is more restrictive on the command type and no longer tolerates incorrect command type specification in Role files. Since so much has changed between the two versions, we don't advise to use previous NX12 version role in NX2206. Please rebuild your new role.
