NX for Manufacturing

Summary

Details

The In Process Workpiece (IPW) of any operation in a Mill/Turn program can be displayed using Workpiece -> Display 3D IPW. When the IPW of a mill operation is exported using Workpiece -> Save IPW as the IPW is correctly displayed. When a turning operation is selected and exported, though, only turning type operations show removed material. Is there a way to display the complete IPW when selecting a turning operation for export?

Solution

To work around this behavior add a Generic Mill operation to the end of the program. This Generic Mill operation will not have motion commands or a tool. When this operation is selected, Save IPW as is run and the part file opened both the turning and the milling operations are displayed in the IPW.
