Summary

Details

In Solid Edge Assembly, when selecting Custom Sensors from the Sensor tab, the following error message appears: "There are no custom sensors installed on your machine. Install your custom sensors and try again."

According to the Solid Edge documentation, there should be more information regarding custom sensors in the "..\Custom\Custom Sensors" folder under the Solid Edge folder. However, no such a folder is available on any of our installations. Are Custom Sensors an add-on?

Platforms
  • Windows x64 10
  • Windows x64 11
Release Versions
  • Solid Edge V222MP8
Solution

Before you can use the Custom Sensors you will need to download "Solid_Edge_Sample_Programs_2022.zip" from the Solid Edge 2022 Download site.

After downloading and extracting the files you should see a folder named "CustomSensor". In this folder is the document "Readme.doc" that explains how to enable and use these custom sensors. There is a "RegisterSample.exe" that needs to be ran "as administrator".

After registering you should be able to follow the document and the custom sensors will be available within Solid Edge Assembly.
