NX Can the Configuration of a CAM Part be Changed after it is set

File -> New -> Manufacturing is used to create a new CAM assembly. The Prismatic Milling and Hole Making template is selected which causes the cam_prismatic.dat  configuration to be set in the assembly. Once this configuration is set it cannot be changed, though. 

  The selected configuration will determine whether the user can Browse to a posted output location.   

Is it possible to override this configuration?

The configuration file can be re-selected by going to File -> Preferences -> Manufacturing -> Configuration -> Configuration File. This change will only be in effect during the current session. When the file is reopened the configuration reverts back to the configuration saved at creation.

When a new Role is created the current configuration is saved in the role. This role will override the configuration saved in the program file.

There is a Customer Default to retrieve the configuration from the role. Enabled this option to use the config saved in the role.
