ASSEMBLY
Summary
Details
The customer opens an assembly with 'Alternate Assemblies', selects the 'Edit Table' command within the 'Family of Assemblies' pane and notices that the 'Alternate Assemblies Table' dialog does not open as expected beside the 'Preview' window.
The customer knows that a 'Restore Solid Edge factory Settings and Preferences' (option in the 'Settings and Preferences Wizard') would resolve the situation but instead of resetting everything they would like to know which specific registry key is responsible for this missing dialog.
Solution
There is no specific registry key which switches this dialog 'On' or 'Off' but deleting the information about the position of this dialog should bring it back.
Execute the following steps:
Exit Solid Edge.
Run the 'Registry Editor' (regedit.exe) on the operating system.
Completely clear the content of the 'Address Bar' (View > Address Bar).
Replace the content by pasting Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version 22x\General\Position\FOATable where 22x needs to be adjusted with the correct Solid Edge version (e.g. 221 = Solid Edge 2021 or 222 = Solid Edge 2022).
Hit the 'Enter' key.
Select the folder 'FOATable' within the structure.
Execute a right mouse button click on the selection.
Choose 'Delete' from the expanded context menu.
Confirm the deletion of the key with 'Yes'.
Exit the 'Registry Editor'.
Start Solid Edge.
Check whether the 'Alternate Assemblies Table' dialog is reinstated.
