Solid Edge Cannot create Simulation connectors due to Windows default printer

The customer tries to create an automatic connector in Solid Edge Simulation.

It then appears that Solid Edge needs some time to figure out what to do.  When the connector window is shown, no connectors are found.

Try changing the default printer in Windows, then Solid Edge knows what to do and the connectors are found as expected. 

In Windows open 'Printer & Scanners'.

Toggle the setting 'Let windows manage my default printer' - if it is ON turn it OFF and vice versa.

This is a rare fault, but changing the setting should solve the Automatic Connector problem.
