When user migrated Inventor Data to Solid Edge; it doesn't show Physical Properties to parts used in assembly.
SolutionWe recommend migrating Inventor material database before migrating Inventor files.
This will ensure material definition inside the Inventor part is intact in the migrated file to Solid Edge.
Till Solid Edge 2022, the material database migration is only possible through MS-DOS.
There is no option available through UI as its available for SolidWorks MS-DOS.
Default path for Inventor material database is taken from Active Projects inside Inventor.
A default Material Database location for;
Inventor - "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\lnventor 2020\Design Data\Materials
Solid Edge - C:\Program Files\Siemens\Solid Edge 2022\Preferences\Materials
Steps:
• Ensure Solid Edge 2022 and Inventor is installed on same machine
- Start Command Prompt as an administrator
- Copy and paste "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Solid Edge 2022\Program\lNVmat2SEMat.exe"
- Space
- Copy and paste - "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\lnventor 2020\Design Data\Materials
\lnventorMaterialLibrary.adsklib"
- Enter
- Please wait...
- It will migrate material database and create "InventorMaterialLibrary.mtl" to SE Preferences\Materials folder
- It's Done! Now you can migrate Inventor Data to Solid Edge
