How to Create a Break-out Section View in Drafting
1. Select desired view border and right click.
- Note: If the draft only has one view, a second will have to be created in order to indicate how deep the section view should go. The second view can be deleted after the section view is created.
2. Click Active Sketch View.
3. Using the options in the Sketch tab -> Sketch group, create the boundary lines that will make the break-out section view.
4. When finished, choose the Sketch tab -> Sketch -> Finish Sketch.
5. In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Insert -> View -> Break-out.
- Note: For a more detailed explanation of the Break-Out Section View dialog box, visit Drafting (siemens.com)
- For exceptions, visit Drafting (siemens.com).
6. Select the view that the break-out section will be in.
7. On one of the views, select a base point.
- Note: This indicates how deep the section view will go.
8. Select the boundary lines.
- Note: Ensure that the thin white line connecting the two curves doesn’t intersect them.
9. Click Ok.
