How to Edit and Customize the Title Block in Drafting

1.       To make the title block selectable, in the Top Border Bar select Menu -> Format -> Layer Settings.

2.       In the Layer Settings window under the Layers group, make the layer the title block is on the work layer.

-          Note: The title block should be on layer 254.

3.       Click Close.

Changing Title Block Corner Location

1.       Right click the title block and click settings.

2.       In the Alignment group, the Title Block position will choose which corner of the canvas the title block is on.

Changing Title Block Cell Properties

1.       Right click the title block and click Edit Definition.

2.       In the Define Title Block window in the Cell Properties group, select and clear the lock box for cells you want to populate.

-          Lock Status: Locked cells can’t be populated.

3.       Click Edit Title Block Table.

4.       Double click on cells and type in order to populate cells with text.

-          Note: In this edit form, only text can be inserted. To add different media, the populate cell function will be used.

5.       When you have finished editing, choose Title Block tab -> Edit -> Finish and click Ok.

Populating Cells

1.       Right click the title block and click Populate.

2.       In the Populate Title Block window, click on the cell you wish to populate.

-          Note: Only unlocked cells will be listed.

3.       Click the Text button.

4.       In the Text window a variety of options are presented.

Populating: Part Attributes

1.       In the Symbols group, select Relationships as the Category.

2.       Click Insert Part Attribute.

3.       In the Attributes window, select the attribute you want displayed.

4.       Click Ok, then click Close.

Returning Title Block to Original State

1.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Format -> Layer Settings.

2.       In the Layer Settings window, in the Layers group click on layer 1 to make it the work layer and click Close.

3.       Note: The title block will only enter its original state once the Layer Settings window has been closed and it will no longer be selectable.
