NX How to Assert the weight of a part file in an Assembly

Asserting weight to a part in an assembly.

 The weight of a part can be asserted by following the procedure as shown in the attached video.  Please also see the provided steps below.

How to Assert the weight of a part file in an Assembly

1.       Open Assembly.

-          Note: The weight can be asserted in an assembly or a single piece part.

2.       In the Assembly Navigator, right click on the empty space next to the headers. Click Properties.

3.       In the Assembly Navigator Properties window under Columns, select Mass in your desired unit(s) and click Ok.

4.       In the Top Border Bar choose Menu -> Analysis -> Advanced Mass Properties -> Show Mass Properties Panels.

5.       Select the part.

6.       Under the Mass Properties group, type the asserted weight in the Asserted column.

7.       Next to the Mass Properties table, click Update to update the part.

-          Note: The weight displayed is based off the default density 0.283 lbs/in^3. It will not be displayed in the Assembly Navigator.

8.       To display the Asserted weight in the Assembly Navigator, in the Mass Properties group, under the Source column change the cell to Asserted.

-          Note: The Assembly Navigator will now automatically update with the Asserted weight.
