How do I edit a CYCL_DEF command in the MCF file using Machine Configurator?

Solution

To make edits to the MCF file you need to have access to the Advance version of Machine Configurator.

Also, not all the CYCL_DEF commands can be edited or controlled by the user. The commands which have Yellow box in front can be edited. For example CYCL_DEF_247 and CYCL_DEF_7 as shown in the following image.

The yellow box denotes the command can be edited.

Once you identify the command you want to modify/edit, please follow the below steps. Here we will take CYCL_DEF_247 as an example.

1. Open the MCF file you want to Edit in the  Machine Configurator.

2. Go to Source>Current File>Create a new Metacode Group.

2. Go to the Source of HeidenhainTNC.CCF and copy the CYCL_DEF_247 to the New Group.

3. Go to Current file as Source. Now you should be able to Edit the CYCL_DEF command.

You can either Edit the existing Metacode using "Customized Command" or call an External Program using the "Call Program" option.

Please note that the modification is done to the Current file only, original code will not be modified but will be overridden.
