NX How to choose dataset and relation type while exporting a step file

Often customers ask if it is possible to choose the dataset and relation type for the dataset created by an export operation performed on a step file

The TC_NX_DataExchange_Dataset_Preference must be set according to the desired result and the syntax described in the documentation.

Also, the parameter REF_TYPE, in the BMIDE, should have the same value as in BMIDE in the references table of the specific dataset.

After having set these preferences, the new dataset type and relation should be available in the STEP Export window in NX.

In some NX versions there may be a refresh issue in the Export window.

In order to overcome the problem, the user should select “Filesystem” and once again “Teamcenter”, in the field "Output file destination", then the window should update the content with the correct data.
