Solid Edge Item Numbers revert to default increments in Structure Manager

The Customer is working in the Solid Edge Embedded Client (SEEC) managed environment and wants to start Item Numbers in BOMs with 1 and count up with an increment of +1.  Therefore, they set the preference SEEC_Synchronize_ItemNumbers accordingly:

This works fine with assemblies created within the Solid Edge/SEEC managed environment.

However, for assemblies imported using 'Add to Teamcenter Interactive' the Item Numbers revert to the default of 10, 20,30 etc

This is working as designed.

It is necessary to create the Item Numbers in the unmanaged environment and define this requirement in Solid Edge Options:

1. Open the assembly in unmanaged Solid Edge.

2. In Solid Edge Options -> Item Numbers - turn on 'Maintain Item Numbers' and define preference.

In this case start with Item number 1 and then Increment by 1.

This preference is used to generate Item Numbers in Solid Edge when Teamcenter mode is ON.

3. Save and close the assembly.

4. Add the assembly to Teamcenter using 'Add to Teamcenter Interactive'.

Now when you open the assembly in Structure Manager the Item Numbers appear as desired.
