Solid Edge Using an intersection point while dimensioning always creates a driven dimension instead of a driving dimension

The user wants to create a driving dimension between an intersection point ...

... and another element.

This always creates a driven dimension.

The user would like to create a driving dimension instead.  How can this be done?

Before placing the dimension the user needs to create an additional point at the intersection point.

Afterwards this additional point can be used to create the intended driving dimension.
