Solid Edge Imported STEP faces split options

Since the release of Solid Edge 2022 MP4, importing STEP files has resulted in the faces of the imported file to be split regardless of the import options. 

This behavior is due to a new option introduced with the release of 2022 MP4 to address a contrasting behavior where split surfaces in the model are not imported by the STEP translator and are always merged into a single stitched surface.

Now you have control over that behavior and whether the surfaces get imported as stitched or split by doing the following:

1. Open the "STEP.INI" file present in the default location "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Solid Edge 2022\Preferences\Translators"

2. Under the group import options add the option "Import Optimize=On" where setting the value to On will have the surfaces stitched while setting it to Off will have the surfaces split.
