How to edit the boundary of a Detail view to an odd shape or a custom shape.

Solution

1. Make the parent view the active sketch view.
2. Use Sketch Curves to create the custom or odd-shaped boundary needed for the Detail view.
3. Finish the Sketch.
4. Create a Detail view where the boundary encompasses the entire sketch needed for the custom boundary.
5. Hover the cursor over the newly created Detail view boundary, 'MB3-->Boundary'.
6. Toggle to the setting, 'Break Line / Detail'.
7. In the Detail view, select the sketch curves that will be used for the boundary.
8. Select 'Apply'.
9. If the custom or odd-shaped boundary is also needed on the parent view, toggle either option, 'Boundary' or 'Label on Boundary'.
10. Select 'Apply'.
Cancel out of the dialog and update the views.
