Summary

Details

A user has a Solid Edge frame assembly.  The lengths of the frame components are the same but one has two miter cuts whilst the other two have one miter cut to distinguish them as unique.
They then go Tools - Report and select Parts lists.

In the Format options they add columns for Miter Cut 1 and Miter Cut 2.

The resulting report looks like this:

The quantity is defined as 3 and Miter Cut 1 is indicated as ambiguous (*).  There should be two items with quantities of 1 and 2 and Miter Cut angles of 45/45 and 0/45 respectively.

How to show the correct information in the assembly report?

Solution

It is necessary to ensure that item numbers are being created for the assembly so that they can be used in downstream processes - such as Reports.

To do this, go to Settings - Solid Edge Options - Item Numbers.

Activate "Maintain item numbers".
Now when you create a report the frame components will be differentiated where appropriate and the Miter Cut angles will all appear correctly.
