How to create a symbol at the center of gravity using the Measure function

Solution

1.  A solid body will be needed in order to find the center of gravity.

2. Open the Measurement dialog by selecting in the Menu, 'Analysis-->Measure'.

3. Find the Type filter that is located in the top left of the screen above the Part Navigator. Then select  "Solid Body" from the dropdown.

4. In the Measure dialog select the 'Settings' dropdown and check 'Associative'.

5. Select the desired solid body

      a.  Note: If the center of gravity of an entire assembly is sought, change the object to measure from "object" to "object set" and select all of the components in the work area.

6.  A pop-up will display in the work area. Find 'Center of Mass' on the list and  there will be a blue icon that says "Creates non-associative geometry on OK or Apply." Click it.

7.        Click OK.

8.  Note: If the symbol is not visible try putting the model in wireframe.
