In Expression Editor, you can toggle on Enable Advanced Filtering to search a string or a character.

How do you search for multiple strings as in the example below, if you want to filter just Depth, Length and Width?

Solution

This can be done with the following steps:

1. The Customer Default must be changed to allow Regular Expression for the Filtering. This can be found under Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> General -> Miscellaneous (Tab) and then Toggle ON 'Regular Expressions' for the Text Filter item. Note: This is a general option and may also have consequences in other places of NX, so you could set it back to Simple as you wish.

2. You will need to restart NX after this change.

3. In the Expressions Dialog, toggle ON the 'Filter by Name', use the 'Equals' option. As in the example above, if you want to filter just Depth, Length and Width, then type the string "Depth|Length|Width"

(Note: there are no quotes and no spaces).

The Regular Expressions option is limited to Filter options 'Equals" and 'Does Not Equal' .
