Hover the cursor over a view, 'MB3-->Show Balloons' will create automatic balloons for that view.
When using this auto-balloon functionality, some balloons appear with the text, (REF) on them. What is this and how can it be removed?
WORKAROUND: Manually add the balloons instead of having NX automatically generate the balloons in the view.
This is happening for two reasons...
1. The component already has a balloon in another view.
2. The Parts List Settings has turned ON 'Reference Symbol Text'.
a. Hover your cursor over the upper left-hand corner of the Parts List, 'MB3-->Settings'.
b. Browse to 'Parts List-->Callouts' to check the 'Reference Symbol Text' setting.
When a component already has a balloon in a view, the automatic 'Show Balloons' function will not create a balloon in another view for that component, unless you have turned ON, 'Reference Symbol Text'. Here is the basic functionality when using Automatic Balloons:
o If a component already has a balloon in a view, does the user want balloons created for that component in another view?
* If No, set 'Reference Symbol Text = None'.
NOTE: If 'Reference Symbol Text' had a value and you change this to "None", the additional balloons already created will now be empty, but may not be deleted. You may have to manually delete the "extra" balloons.
* If Yes, then set 'Reference Symbol Text' to a value you want to see on the additional balloons for that component...you may have either "Reference Symbol Text = Callout" or "Reference Symbol Text = Custom; Custom Text = 2".
NOTE: Since Reference Symbol Text is set to a value, balloons will be added to components, even if they already have a balloon in another view and this additional balloon will be marked "(REF)".
