Summary

Details

A number of holes need to be drilled through a part at a given location and direction. A solid model of the part is not available. The holes will need to be drilled using supplied point and vector data. How can this data be used to drill holes in a Hole Making operation?

Solution

From the Hole Making dialog create a Hole Boss Geometry group.

Click on Select Object(0). Enter the Diameter and the Depth settings and than select the point location for the first hole.

After the point is selected a CSYS will be  displayed at that location.

The displayed CSYS is not aligned with the vector axis. To change the direction click Specify Orientation select the ZC axis and than the hole vector.

To select another hole click on the Select Object option and repeat the process.
