NX NXTOPVDIRECT JT Translator is generating partially correct JT due to Reference Sets

The customer is using nxtopvdirect JT translator on their Dispatcher server to covert NX to JT file. In the dispatcher server, they are using below configuration file setting for translation services in tessUG.config file


useRefsets = "PART,FINAL_PART,MODEL"


However, when user submit to NX CAD ( which is having multiple reference set which is not defined in tessUG.config ) for JT translation, the converted JT is not showing up all the components, and some have no geometry at all.

Solution

This is because some parts have partial or no parts in those listed reference sets as called by the useRefsets option in the tessUG.config option.
Here are a couple examples. I'll be using the OOTB MODEL reference set. I will also make sure to translate using the config file option useRefsets = "MODEL"


In this example, you can see 3 bodies, 2 of which are selected for this MODEL reference set.

It results in only those 2 bodies being converted to the JT file.

In this example, I've removed all bodies from the MODEL reference set and saved JT.

This results in an "empty" JT file.
