Details

In a Solid Edge drawing a user has defined a Detail View of a cylindrical part.  In the Detail View they place a Centerline from the Annotation menu.

Subsequently, they redefine the profile of the Detail View so that it no longer includes the area of the Centerline.  However, the Centerline now appears outside of the Detail View.

Is there a way to not show the Centerline when it is no longer within the Detail View profile?

Solution

There is a workaround for this.  When creating the Detail View profile select the option "Independent Detail View" from the ribbon bar.

This will allow you to add geometry in the Detail View independent of the source view.

Next you would RMB on the Detail View and select "Draw in View".  Then you would define the Centerline and "Close Draw in View".

Now when you redefine the Detail View profile so that it crops the Centerline, it will no longer be shown in the Independent Detail View.
