Summary

Details

"Internal error: memory access violation" error occurs while try to close a component which is in drafting application.

Steps to reproduce:
===============

1.Start NX
2.Open a new assembly > add a new component
3.Make a component Work Part > Add new Reference Set
4.Make the assembly Work Part > set the Reference Set to the component which is created in "Step3" above.

 == Ex, set to REFERENCE_SET1 as Reference Set==

5.Again, Make the component Work Part

  == Make sure to be set Reference set to others like "Entire Part"==

6.File > New> open a new part
7.Launch Drafting

 ==Entering Drafting environment in other model "Model2.prt"==

8.Close the part (with "x" button)
                   ==Error happens with "Internal error....."==

Solution

The issue has been fixed in NX 1980.

Work Around(One of them):
1.After launching Drafting in "Step7.", switching to another environment such as Modeling and close the part.
2.In "Step4.", changing Reference Set to NX Default such as "Entire Part" or "Model" and closing the part to be opened in "Step7."

Notes and References

This phenomenon occurs regardless of if it's a new part or an existing part.

It occurs if all following two conditions are met.
    1.Reference Set is set to something other than NX Default.
    2.If the part is closed in the drawing environment.
