I have a question regarding the file storage metric in usage transparency.
In the docs it says:
File Storage (GB) File Storage represents the IoT File Service included in your subscribed plan.
It is the total size of the files uploaded to the IoT File Service.
My question is regarding the content of these files.
We mostly have MindConnect Nanos connected to our tenant and I can see the files that are on these machines, what exactly are these files, and are they needed on our tenant?
Solution
The IoT File Service provides the user with file management for files related to assets. The service provides an interface to manage data, search files and download them to specified agents.
These files are the log files and status files of the connected device, that is MindConnect NANO in your case.
These files are important for investigation when there is some issue with the NANO box.
You can delete 2-3-month-old files to clean up space.
For more details on the file storage please follow the below documentation.
