Details
To replicate Insight functionality for users that are moving to Solid Edge Data Management we added a new option to move old revisions to obsolete starting with SE2019 MP4 and ST10 MP12. This document will explain the configuration and workflow.

Configuration
Define a document controller. Add the Obsolete location to the vault. Enable "Automatically obsolete previous revisions while releasing a file".
Please Note:
Two options (listed below) have been backported starting with SE2019 MP4 & ST10 MP12. For SE2019 MP4 and later use the following registry keys to set the value/option…
For "Automatically obsolete previous revisions while releasing a file" use below registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version 219\Global\SetOtherRevsToObsolete Type: DWORD (32 Bit) Values Possible values: 0 (OFF) or 1 (ON) Default value: 0 (OFF)
For "Automatically set the draft status to match the status of the part placed in the drawing" use below registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version 219\Global\AutoSetDraftStatusAsPlacedPart Type: DWORD (32 Bit) Values Possible values: 0 (OFF) or 1 (ON) Default value: 1 (ON)
For ST10 M12 and please use the following equivalent registry keys:
Have a Solid Edge Part and Draft in the vault. Release files in Design Manager; files are now moved to the Release folder.
Open the Released part and create a new Revision, this will create a new revision of the Part and Draft.
Modify the Part and update the Draft, save changes. Release the files with Design Manager. Note: this should be done by a Document Controller. Design Message:
You will get a report of the Status changes. Check the vault: Old revisions are moved to the Obsolete location.
