Is PrimeTurning supported by NX CAM? Where do I find it?

NX CAM Turning now supports S PrimeTurning™ for rough and finish operations and Coroturn® Prime A and B tools.

The new Rough Turn Prime  and Finish Turn Prime  operation subtypes generate the PrimeTurning™ tool paths. PrimeTurning tool paths support efficient turning in all directions, and have the following characteristics:

Support higher feed rates and larger cut depths.

Maintain uniform tangential force on the tool for longer tool life.

There are 2 types of Prime operations:

• Rough Turn Prime  is a roughing operation with smooth circular infeed and outfeed moves. It includes Additional Corner Cleanup and Relief Plunge options for fast removal of rest material in corners. Rough Turn Prime is supported by Prime A and Prime B tool insert types.

• Finish Turn Prime  is a finishing operation that includes finishing strategies optimized for  PrimeTurning by supporting Prime A and Prime B tool insert types. Prime A is preferred for finishing.

Both operations require  CoroTurn® Prime A-type or B-type tools.

Prime A-type tools are preferred for Finish Turn Prime.
