NX Fixed Contour operation does not completely machine selected area

In older versions of the stepover was applied was defined 'On-Plane' We have now changed this to default to 'On-Part'. This may have the effect of changing the toolpath when regenerated in a higher version

Although 'On-Part' generally gives a better toolpath, it may result in the surface not being completely machined.

Solution

The 'On-plane' stepover can still be enabled in later versions by setting a customer default:


Manufacturing - Operation - 'General tab' - 'Allow On-plane  Stepover Option in Area Milling' :

restart NX, then edit the operation, you will see the 'On-plane' option is available to be selected in the operation:
