How are Solid Edge templates uploaded into Teamcenter?
Solution
Upload Solid Edge templates to Teamcenter from a client workstation that has Solid Edge installed.
On the client workstation run the Choose PDM Integration tool under the Solid Edge program group. This will launch the Solid Edge PDM Client Application Launcher. Make sure the Teamcenter Integration for Solid Edge is selected and you are on the Teamcenter tab. Select the Templates command to launch the Import Solid Edge Templates tool.
Browse to the folder containing the custom templates, then login as infodba. Once logged in, import the templates. The imported templates will be placed in a folder "Solid Edge Templates" in the infodba's Home location.
As templates are updated in the future it is very important to rename the existing "Solid Edge Templates" folder in Teamcenter before importing updated templates. Cutting the folder from Home without renaming the folder will cause future problems.
