What is the difference between a Role and a User Group?

Solution

Assigning a role for a specific user is more of a single-use case. When you assigned a number of roles directly, you'll have to do this for every new user.

If you create a user group, you can assign several user roles for a specific group and then easily assign the new user to this group. You can maintain the user group instead of adding or removing user roles to all individuals in the group. You could also assign other groups to a user group or add a unique role to the user later.

For example:

You could create a group with individual roles (assetmanger, fleetmanager, launchpad); instead of adding these roles to each subtenant user, you can add the user to the group.
