How to set the default Part Type in NX File New dialog if multiple Item types are available in the Template pax file?


Like as in the below snapshot shows Item as default type and drop-down has Multiple Item Types available. If we want Design to be default type instead of Item then how to set the same?

The below image shows available two Item types.

Solution

If you want the 'Design' Item Type to be selected by default though you have multiple Item Types defined in the template file. Then this is governed by the Teamcenter Preference "TC_default_part_type". So, change the value of this preference with the Item Type which you want to set as default like in this case its Design (Internal Name as define in BMIDE), and restart NX to see the changes. Refer below snap.
