How to avoid License error -15 

If a client machine is not able to connect to license server and due to firewall restrictions, then this error will come.

Solution

By adding exception to ugslmd.exe and lmgrd.exe in the license server machine will solve this error.

  1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel .
    1. Click Windows Firewall .
      1. Click Advanced Settings .
        1. Click Inbound Rules, then New Rule .
          1. Select Program from the Rule Type window, then click Next .
            1. Click Browse below This program path to select the program executable file ugslmd.exe , then click Next .
              1. Ensure Allow the connection is selected, then click Next .
                1. Select When to apply the rule (Domain, Private, or Public), then click Next .
                  1. Enter a Name and optional Description , then click Finish .

                    Follow the same steps and add  lmgrd.exe.
