Customer wants to setup a Revision sequence for Solid Edge were they start with a 0 (zero) as initial value and continue with an alphabetic value i.e. A, B, C, etc..

How to configure this?

Solution

In the BMIDE create a new Revision Naming Rule with an Initial Type for Numeric values and a secondary type for the Alphabetic values.

Attach this Revision Naming Rule to the item_revision_id.

Set 0 (zero) as initial value for the Item_revision_id  in the BMIDE

Deploy your project to Teamcenter.

Result in SEEC

Initial save of a Part: Rev 0 (zero)

Create a new revision: The CPD will prompt no value for the new revision, you need to open the pulldown menu to select the value (1 or A); select A for the new sequence.

Next revision: B is automatically prompted…
