Summary

Details

Splice not automatically being created when a newly created wire terminates on a span of another wire.

Solution

When routing wires in Solid Edge Electrical - Design, terminating a wire on another routed wire will typically result in a splice being automatically created between the new wire and the original wire, at the point where the new wire was terminated.

There is an exception to this general functionality - when the user is in 3-Phase mode for routing wiring connections.

To enter into Three Phase Connection,  Toggle between Auto-routing - on, Auto-routing - off and Three Phase Connection by clicking the icons in the Status Bar.
3-Phase mode automatically disables Auto-routing functionality. This is to allow the deliberate overlapping of wiring in the design (which Auto-route does not permit).

With overlapping wiring capability now being allowed in 3-Phase mode, the automatic creation of splices is turned off.
