Summary

Details

The user wants to use the gagetable to define most neutral factors for flat pattern but in addition they want to overwrite the neutral factor for certain features.   How to accomplish this?

Solution

This possibility will be implemented with Solid Edge version 2022. Until then this is not possible.

Solid Edge version 2021 and older:

Once the option "Use Neutral Factor from Excel file" is set on the gage properties tab, the neutral factor coming from excel has precedence over the value overwritten for the individual feature. This is working as designed. To control the neutral factor at an individual feature level, one has to use the "Neutral Factor" option.

Solid Edge version 2022 and newer:

With this version the user will be able to overwrite the neutral factor for certain features even if a gagetable is in use and the enclosed neutral factor is applied to all other features. Solid Edge version 2022 will honour the neutral factor overwritten at the feature level.

Notes and References

The new behaviour only applies to features created in Solid Edge 2022. All older features will have to be recreated to make use of the new behaviour.
