When using the NX_Density (MassPropDensity) attribute in a Part Family spreadsheet, defining new density values are not use when creating a member.
Step 1: Edit Solid Density to .283 -> Select the solid body -> Save Part
Step 2: Verify that NX_Density is now an available attribute (Properties)
Step 3: Create a Part Family -> add any necessary expressions/attributes -> Add the NX_Density (MassPropDensity) column
Step 4: Create Spreadsheet
Step 5: add a couple of rows -> edit 1 row -> change the value in the NX_Density column to .300
Step 6: Verify that row
Step 7: Measure Solid Body (note the Density is still at .283)
Does NX_Density work with Part Family?
Solution
A video demonstrating this can be viewed here.
If the user wants to control the Density of a solid body, it is incorrect to include the attribute of Density into Part Family directly.
The user needs to assign a name to the solid body, then include the named solid body into Part Family from the Density Category in the Part Family dialog.
